Yaëlle has had the privilege of working in early childhood education for the past 10 year in various capacities both nationally and internationally. After graduating with her Bachelors from McGill University, she spent six years in Guatemala where she first managed the volunteer program of not-for-profit which served children and families living around the Guatemala city garbage dump. She then ran a a Montessori-inspired bilingual preschool. Yaëlle left Guatemala to pursue her Masters degree in Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Upon completing her degree, Yaëlle collaborated with the International Rescue Committee on a project working with and training early childhood teachers in Congolese refugee camps in Burundi and Tanzania. These experiences solidified her commitment to holistic, culturally-relevant, and developmentally appropriate early childhood education.
Yaëlle joined Imagine as the Director of Vets Kids in the beginning of 2015 and is pursuing another Dual Masters degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education. She is inspired by Imagine's family oriented, holistic approach to early learning as well as its commitment to child-centered learning through play. Vets Kids provides a nurturing environment for healthy growth and development. Kindness, a love for learning and an early sense of global citizenship and community involvement are the pillars of the curriculum and our community. Best of all, we have fun!
